Years of Turmoil

The impression in the Muslim mind that Palestinians were systematically dispossessed, killed, maimed, jailed and tortured because of unquestioning US support deepened with every passing day. Muslims were perturbed over the blatant US duplicity –– it was insisting on “complete” disarmament of an Iraq which had hardly any significant weapons left with it after the Gulf War (and after almost daily strafing by US and British warplanes since then), while ignoring massive stockpiles of nuclear, chemical, biological and conventional weapons Israel had accumulated.
